Chocolate Van Houten distributed chromos as a premium, not only in Holland but also Belgium, USA and France : here are some examples of early advertising in France. The name of the artist is mentioned in the title (if known be me)

L Levison Jnr of Copenhagen. Some of the artists used are Danish from the last quarter of the 19th century to the early 20th century. Artists used for Van Houten cards include\ Fritz Kraul 1862-1935 Carsten Ravn 1859 - 1914 Paul Fischer 1860 - 1935 Wenzel Tornoe 1844 - 1907 ( Wenzel Ulrik Tornöe ) Carl Lund 1855 - 1940
