Paris : E X P O 1900

Dust and Smoke

All these cards are from a few years before 1900.

  • they were edited by various company's and the printers & artists did a good job
  • the EXPO 1900 in Paris was THE event of the beginning new millenium !
  • the Metropolitan was as you can see, some kind of a weird monster
  • Please enjoy your visit to these golden tradecards (chromos in French)
  • The construction of the Paris Metropolitan, needed for such an event, had many against-voters.

    These cards illustrate their feelings : fear for the smoke in the city, noise and trembling disturbances, monuments destroyed, tunnels everywhere ... the unknown was frightening !

    The sharks were suposed to await laughing their victoms of the big transportation mediums over long distance

    The end of the 19th century was celebrated by the 1900 World Exposition
